Miku Hatsune

ミク初音

who is miku?? miku is a vocaloid, which is basically a singing program. her name translates to "the first sound of the future". she is canonically 16. miku is popular for being able to be whatever anyone wants her to be, but not every miku is canon. she has been initially released on august 31, 2007, her first song is "01_ballade" by eiji hirasawa which is a demo song. i must mention "melody..." by mikuru396 which is a great song that was created 2 months later :)

why miku?? i always loved her since childhood (since i was six) and recently my obession with her came back and its arguably even more intense now :,) she just gives me such a serotonin boost. as a kid, my favourite song, and probably the first one i discovered, was ievian polkka. ever since then i constantly drew her and listened to her songs which stuck with me till now, and will definetly continue. i played some of the games! project diva, extend and 2nd for the psp, project diva x (only the demo :C) project diva f (which runs pretty poorly on my pc), project diva arcade, future tone and megamix+. i really liked the feeling of the older games. for example, when you cleared a song, miku would cheer you on! also, i hate the fact they removed the diva room feature, where you could also interact with the characters. i feel like project diva has gotten really corporate these days, and pushed away from the story mode of the game. ...but i have to say unlocking all of the songs was a pain. what really brought back my obsession was when i recently went to the arcade with my bf and played all different kinds of japanese imports, and i played project diva on the arcade for the first time. it was amazing, because i was able to play my favourite song (ievian polkka), and ever since then i wouldnt shut up about miku :,) though i kind of hate what vocaloid has come to (miku teto slop im looking at you) nowadays the music sounds so boring and copy and paste. :/ now, im not saying "newgen songs are dogshit dont listen to them" because there ARE good ones and im not gonna be acting like an 'oldgen' elitist
