who is lain??lain is a 11-14 year old girl from the psx game(contains serious topics) and anime serial experiments lain :) there is also a prequel short, few page manga that came before the anime. she is popularly known for her interest in programming. she is commonly portrayed as quite asocial, but is very close with another character of the name alice. she goes through identity issues and dissociation throughout the anime and game, and posseses multiple personalities. the anime is very popular for its confusing nature and conspiracies, the opening is right - we do not seem to understand :,).

why lain?? the reason i really like lain is probably the attention to detail for her character. for example, one thing i must mention and i love is her haircut. in the game, she says she cut it that way to ward off 'evil' coming from the left side. her haircut could also resemble her instable nature and constant personality shifts. i seriously love the game so much (i based my website off the web port lol) , and i feel like it explains the anime too a little. for example, in the game, lain is sent to a counsellor because she often hallucinates voices in wires. thats why in the anime, there are moments where we can hear the wires talking. i think what really started my obession is when my ex friend said i look like her, lol. every media associated with lain is just so amazing, it perfecly describes how often people blur the line between reality and internet. or rather sometimes, how we CHOOSE to, because the world on the internet seems like a much better place. i also really prefer the eng dub of the anime imo.
